Hi famm — I’m Barbara (she/her), LMSW + creator of Mental Nesting. Mental Nesting is my corner of the internet for the therapy-experienced, emotionally intelligent, “I know exactly why I do this but still can’t stop” girlies. It’s for the soft ones, the overthinkers, the people who grew up too fast, and the ones who are finally learning how to come home to themselves. I built this space after realizing something no one told me: healing doesn’t happen in the 53 minutes you’re in therapy — it happens in the 167 hours in between. That’s when the spirals hit. That’s when the freeze response takes over. That’s when all your insight suddenly feels far away. Mental Nesting fills the gap between knowing better and feeling safe enough to do better. I teach self-trust through nervous-system care, inner child softness, and real-time support — not perfection, not performance, not “just set boundaries.” I create tools, journals, prompts, decks, and a cozy community (The Nest) for people who want gentleness without fluff, honesty without harshness, and healing that doesn’t require you to pretend you’re okay when you’re not.
