Creative Recess was born from a rebellion against grind culture and a love of what happens when people slow down enough to notice the possible. Founded by KP Williams, Ph.D., Independent Professor of Possibility, Creative Recess is a post-academic playground where leadership meets liberation. We help leaders, educators, and changemakers transform burnout into belonging and ambition into authenticity through curiosity, creativity, community, and spirit. Our “rigorously playful” approach blends arts-based learning, storytelling, and reflection with research-grounded methods in leadership and design thinking. Each session, workshop, or conversation is an experiment in becoming—an invitation to pause the grind and play your way free. Our Philosophy Play is not a break from the serious work—it is the work. Through Creative Recess, we treat learning as a creative act and leadership as a shared art form. We blend story (structure) with art (motion) to help individuals and organizations find clarity without losing wonder. This is where possibility becomes practice.
