Alai Coffee / அலை / (pronounced ah-lay) means “waves” in Tamil—a nod to the new wave we’re creating in the world of Indian specialty coffee. Based in Vancouver, Alai Coffee is a South Asian, queer women-owned micro-roaster dedicated to bold flavours, intentional sourcing, and transparency from farm to cup. Alai is on a mission to de-anonymize Indian coffee, sourcing directly from small-scale farms across India and roasting locally here in Vancouver. We provide specialty coffee popup services for private events, have an e-commerce website where we sell our beans directly, and additionally, our beans are served at Union Market Café in Vancouver and available to purchase at 8+ cafés around the Lower Mainland area as well.
