Intrinsic Paths is a creative journey focused on artistic expression, nature connection, and unhurried movement. Projects range from detailed pen art, WALK book gatherings, mindfulness practices, hosted walking experiences, Pedestrian Dignity media/organizing, and more. Jonathon Stalls (he, his) is a multi-disciplinary "Walking Artist" with Intrinsic Paths. In 2010, he walked for 242 days across the U.S. and has continued to move alongside a wide variety of people and landscapes since. His creative work involves pen drawing, creative writing, the Pedestrian Dignity mobility justice project, mindfulness practices, and more. He is the author of WALK - Slow Down, Wake Up & Connect at 1-3 Miles Per Hour (North Atlantic Books). He resides in Poncha Springs, Colorado with his husband, Ben.

All prints come on 100% recycled cardstock and are printed locally in Denver, Colorado. Large prints (8x10+) are limited edition up to 60 or 100 total prints. Considering the sharp black and white detail of my work, prints can carry an incredible likeness to the original work.

All pieces are hand drawn using .3, .1, and .05 technical pens. Original drawings range in size (usually 5x5 to 11x14). Intrinsic Paths drawings are often inspired from pencil sketches during longer multiday or multiweek walks. They often incorporate poetic invitations and themes of nature, healing, connection, and justice. Please reach out directly regarding available originals as I usually don't have all of them listed on the website.

Jonathon aims to take on 1-2 commission projects per month. This includes personal projects, artwork for your home or office, gifts for loved ones, illustrations for book projects, ceremony pieces, and tattoo drawings. Jonathon isn’t currently accepting logos, portraits, or very specific requests. He prefers projects where he has creative freedom to explore your ideas and vision.

Throughout the year, Jonathon hosts a wide variety of walking/movement events focused on social connection, nature connection, mental health, creativity, mobility justice, and more. He is currently seeking opportunities to host book reading events that start with an optional 30-45 minute walk. Books can be made available for participants at a discount rate through his publisher or available for sale at the event. This can be in partnership with your local bookstore, public library, community group, or organization. $250 - $2,500 depending on duration, number of events, and travel.

For years, Jonathon has worked with local, statewide, and national organizations (AARP, America Walks, CDC, State Health Departments) in hosting half-day, full-day, or multi-day workshops focused on training residents, advocates, non-profit staff, or public agency staff to host local walking/rolling audits to help make their roads, streets, and intersections more walkable and accessible. Price Range: $1,200 - $3,500 depending on duration, planning support, and travel.

Those who walk, use wheelchairs, use powered scooters, and take transit as their primary forms of transportation are experts in pedestrian behavior. They carry worlds of felt wisdom for how to navigate endless barriers (car-centered built environment, transit frequency, safety/comfort, lighting, etc.) regarding safe, accessible, and dignified mobility. Co-creating lived experience events alongside residents and advocates to engage elected officials, transit agencies, and local media is a pillar of the Pedestrian Dignity project. Price Range: $250 - $3,500 depending on duration, number of events, and travel.
