OnlineMudpuddles is your classic local specialty toy store serving the population of Ann Arbor, Michigan and the surrounding areas since its beginning in 1994. We focus on toys that are kid powered and new to market that excite and delight, with an understanding that play is education for the child. Everything in store has been hand picked so you come into a curated collection where there isn't a bad choice among them. We encourage hands-on exploration for children while in the store, as well as the practice of life skills — including asking questions, spending within their means, interacting at the sales desk, and counting out money and receiving change. While a lesbian owned and operated business for its first 22 years, Aiden, a then young transman bought in as one of the founders prepared to retire in 2016. Full of whimsy, with a love of children and small business, this opportunity presented the ability to continue nurturing a space that would be safe for all families to enjoy. Now married, with a child of his own, it continues to be a labor of love and place that brings great joy.
