Counseling / Therapy
I offer therapy, training, and supervision rooted in Internal Family Systems (IFS). I work at the intersection of personal development and social transformation, offering individual and relationship sessions for people who want to experience more choice in how they live, love, and work — and who long to be in the world without being swallowed by it. My work rests on a simple conviction: our inner struggles are rarely just personal. The burdens we carry — perfectionism, self-silencing, burnout, shame — are often legacies of families, histories, and a dominant culture that asks us to conform. Where traditional therapies aim at optimal functioning within that culture, and spiritual traditions often overlook power dynamics altogether, IFS does neither. It supports us in unburdening what was never ours to carry, so we can live increasingly Self-led lives: connected to ourselves, and in genuine contact with the Other. I am an IFS practitioner, trainer, and supervisor (IFSI Level 2, Program Assistant in multiple Level 1 trainings), with a doctoral background in political history that brings a systemic, cross-disciplinary lens to my work. Beyond individual sessions, I offer professional training — including introductory IFS two-day trainings and a specialised programme on IFS and sexuality — as well as supervision groups for IFS-trained professionals, workshops, writing, and public speaking, contributing to the Queering IFS podcast. I work in Dutch and English, online and in person, and welcome clients and professionals across the full spectrum of gender, sexuality, and human experience. This is compassionate, precise, and quietly radical work: healing people, and through them, the culture we share.
