MAJLIS EDITIONS is a New York creative studio built on one belief: beautiful things should not cost the planet. We design with regenerative materials, starting with rugs. Every MAJLIS rug is made from ECONYL regenerated nylon, a fiber reclaimed from ocean and landfill waste, including discarded fishing nets, and renewed again and again with no loss of quality. The result is a floor that feels considered and lasting, made from material that would otherwise pollute the sea. Everything is made to order. You choose the color, size, shape and pile, and we build a piece designed to be lived with for years rather than replaced. We think of them as modern heirlooms: durable, tactile and quietly personal. The studio is small and hands-on. I founded MAJLIS EDITIONS and run it with my partner, Vincent, as a queer-led practice that cares about craft, longevity and doing right by the places our materials come from. The name comes from the Arabic word for a sitting place, a room made for welcome and conversation, which is how we treat every project: a real dialogue about how you want to live.
